Shane Talbot, Director of eSports at Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment
Currently in his fourth season at MLSE, Shane Talbot has managed operations for the company’s entry into esports across all properties including Raptors Uprising in the NBA 2K League, Toronto FC’s professional FIFA program (eMLS), Leaf’s Gaming League (NHL) and other gaming-related initiatives. In November 2020, Talbot was named Team Manager for Canada’s NBA 2K eNational Team ahead of the FIBA Esports Open, overseeing roster selection, content strategy, operations and team performance. Prior to joining MLSE, Talbot served as Chief Operating Officer at Luminosity Gaming, an industry leading endemic esports organization with over $3M in tournament prize money won across a dozen different game titles including Overwatch, Fortnite, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Call of Duty, multiple fighting games, Madden & more.
Neil Peet, Principal at GreenSky Capital
Neil Peet is a Principal with GreenSky Capital, a Venture Capital group focused on early-stage B2B Canadian Technology companies. Working with GreenSky since early 2015, Neil has had the chance to raise four funds, invest in 35+ deals so far, work through several exits (including Wave Accounting, one of the largest exits in Canadian tech) and failures, as well as currently sitting on the board of several high-growth portfolio companies. Prior to working in VC, Neil was a Senior Consultant with SECOR/KPMG Strategy Consulting where he worked in technology, natural resources, healthcare, and energy. He has owned and run his own software development company (launched when CSS was introduced), lived in Africa for 10% of his life, and worked with Engineers Without Borders where he launched an agri-business incubator in Ghana.
Issac Souweine, Partner at Real Ventures
Isaac is a Partner at Real Ventures where he focuses on early stage investments in Montreal-based companies. Prior to joining Real, he held product leadership roles in a number of high growth startups and large tech companies in Montreal, Singapore and New York. Isaac is an active mentor, speaker, and organizer with a deep commitment to paying it forward. A husband and father of two, he thinks Montreal is the perfect place to build a world-class startup ecosystem while raising a family.
